Gut Love Smoothie

This smoothie is beautiful.

Designed to support your gut microbiota and digestive system, each ingredient is included with intention.

Papaya and pineapple are naturally high in the digestive enzymes papain and bromelain, which support the breaking down and digestion of protein and carbohydrates. When making this smoothie I alternate between them depending on seasonal availability, or you can use a mixture of both.

A Greek or natural yogurt that contains a good amount of probiotics brings creaminess and boost of beneficial bacteria.

Bananas, especially 'just-ripe' ones are high in resistant starch which then feeds the bacteria living in our gut.



Ingredients:

  • 1 C papaya (or pineapple)

  • 1/2 underripe banana

  • 1/2 C Greek yogurt

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric

  • 1/2 cup ice

  • 1/2 C coconut water/ plant milk


Method:

Add all ingredients to blender and blitz until smooth and creamy. Enjoy!
